Trip 3 – Bahia Honda

Our friends go to Bahia Honda every summer for 2 weeks and each year they ask us to join them. We have never had a chance to go as the park is really hard to get into and we never think far enough in advance to get reservations. While they were at the park they were able to secure another site on the water which they were going to move to and wanted to see if we wanted to try to reserve their old spot when they canceled. It was a lucky chance that we were able to reserve 3 nights. The Florida Keys in July is hot and we went prepared – swimsuits packed. The site actually has some shade and was getting a breeze. It was not as hot as it could have been. It was really nice to celebrate my birthday in the Keys. Their eldest has the same birthday so it was a party. They also have all the toys – kayaks, paddle board, snorkeling gear. Wayne and I were able to eat at our favorite restaurant twice. No Name Pub has the best fish dip and pizzas as well their burgers are good. Wayne also loved the ceviche. When we sat at the bar then name Wayne was caved into the wood, so I guess we picked the right seats. We even rose before the sun rose to catch the beginning of the day. The sky was not the best for sunrise and sunsets this weekend but it was beautiful.

It was great to check the park out as we have 6 mights booked in January 2025. We will have more time to explore in the cooler weather.
