A short trip to Savannah GA to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. We stayed at Skidaway Island State Park and it was just perfect. The campsites are large and the park is clean and easy to get around on bike. Do expect to maneuver around or over tree roots on the trails. The camp store has a lot of items as well as an interpretive center with live animals and a 20 foot skeleton of a Ground Sloth that roamed the area over 10,000 years ago.
We had a nice visit with family. Wayne and I are looking forward to coming back so we can explore more of the park as well as downtown Savannah.
Wildlife sightings: Fox, Deer, Wood storks, Cattle egrets, Raccoon
