We left Comer, drove through Athens and then headed down the Atlanta Highway to Stone Mountain Campground. This was the closest campground I could find that was near a Marta station so we could go into Atlanta to see my sister. We did not want to drive the van in the city and try to find parking and fight all the traffic. The campground is hugh and our small site was down a pothole hill and then it was a sliver of a spot and then there was a hill that you could walk down to the water. It was a really small area and uneven.

Sunday we explored the park and hiked about 6 miles around part of the lake. The campground is far from the trails and attractions. At night you could see the fireworks going off for one of the attractions. If our bikes were working better we probably would have explored the park more.

I finished the Venice Sketchbook by Rhys Bowen. It was a really good book about WWII in Venice.
